When my alarm went off this morning... I did not want to get out of bed, but we have a busy family day planned out. The ladies in our wellness community have each been faced with some kind of life challenge the past few weeks, but we’re all taking steps to push through and that’s what I thought about before hitting that snooze. 😴 It inspires me to lean in, instead of letting stress get the best of me. I’ve become a bit of an observer. When life stress kicks in, I’m learning to get quiet, sit back, and become more aware of my surroundings. How are these current circumstances impacting my state of mind + emotions. What action can I take to change? 🤔 Doing this has not only helped me realize the things I want more of in my life, but also the things that drain me or knock me off my game. Whatever I do, I do with passion, but there was a time when I was allowing my ambition to get in the way of other areas of my life. I worked hard, building a photography business on the weekends, working full-time throughout the week, but in the process I was destroying my health. I would burn myself out and constantly catch whatever was going around because I would constantly put health on the back burner. 🤒🤧 As a result, the family would end up sick also. 🤦🏻♀️ and of course, no sick days for mom either. One day I realized that it is not what life is all about. Getting ahead at all costs does not provide the mental clarity to be at our best and isn’t something I wanted to teach my kids either. It’s about forming habits, that both help you excel in and enrich your ENTIRE life. 🙏🏻 Yes, life is not a smooth ride (which is why the habits we form are so important), but it became important to me that whatever I was working on made time for me to be present as a mom, allows me to work with my strengths as a creative, make time to grow some awesome relationships and most importantly make time to be healthy... that’s what it’s about. At least for me. It’s what I work on reminding myself of each day. 💖

Working out from home was not my thing, but before I became a mom, that wasn’t my thing either. 🤷🏻♀️ Working out had everything to do with looks before and is exactly the reason I would be inconsistent and constantly up and down with my weight. We go through changes in our lives that either force us to adapt and settle, or realize we have to take a different approach to make the changes we want in our life. A little over two years ago, when I realized I wanted to be the healthiest version of me for my kids, is when it all changed. 💡 Sharing the physical proof through my before and after photos is not about the lbs lost, but about sharing all that I have gained from the change in perspective. Focusing on getting the exercise in home or anywhere else has helped with the #mombrain moments and provides me with mental clarity, feeling more energized and manage stress better. Wanna know a secret? I’m not perfect 😏 oh wait... you already knew that. I don't always eat clean... oh right 🤦🏻♀️ you knew that too! And working out? Don't always wanna do that either, even though I know I always feel good after. In fact, Sky totally woke up this morning refusing to let me escape her cuddles this morning at 5AM. Her line to melt my heart (besides just squeezing me tight) was, “I NEED you mommy.” 💘 I don't always want to do the things I know I need to or get to do them exactly the way I planned, because you know, #momlife . What I do have is the choice of whether or not I allow these decisions to completely take over the things I am working on. When those "I don't wanna" moments kick in, now I know is what moves me either that step forward or a few steps back. In those moments of adversity and when the self sabotaging thoughts kick in, is where true growth happens. My journey has its ups and downs, but I have realized that every time I get knocked down, I get back up and my determination comes back even faster and stronger than before. 💪🏻 It’s also where new healthy habits start developing and my mindset shifting. It’s not just about getting better physically because ultimately that’s not a strong enough reason to continue for me, it’s about raising the quality of standards for my life. Becoming better wife. Better mom. Being full of energy. Learning more techniques 📚 for switching my state of mind to me more happy! And sharing with those around me. Happy to connect with more women each day that are determined to change things in their life, even when they “don’t wanna.” 💭 To me, it’s a blessing that I am extremely thankful for. Thankful that it has helped me form not only healthy habits, but a healthy mindset to support it. I’m humbled by the opportunity to also share the experience with other women who need it too. Waiting for "someday" is no strategy for success, it's a cop-out. How many "someday when..:" excuses have you given to yourself? Even spoke outloud? They're lies. There's only today, tomorrow will turn into another today and so on. Breakthroughs and success won't happen out of thin air, they are planted, CULTIVATED (I.e. Lots of small actions over TIME), and then harvested. You cannot skip the middle step. So do those things you keep putting off for "someday" and do them RIGHT NOW. Like getting up at 6am on a Saturday to do my personal development with the sun rising because I have made a promise to myself to be more patient towards others and that means waking up on MY time...not a toddler's. OMG it’s fall and well... here in Miami we don’t really experience much of the fall weather 😏. One of the ways that I would get my fall fix in with pumpkin spice EVERYTHING! And well I still kind of sort of do, but my way. I remember when I use head straight to Starbucks as soon as they started serving the Pumpkin Spice Latte. But then, I started getting more conscious about what I was putting in my body and 🙅🏻 no thank you! Of course I couldn’t just leave it like that 😉 While I’ve been getting a little meal prep in and helping some of the girls set up for my new online wellness mentorship group starting on Monday (I’m Doing This for Me - 7 day start-up), I’ve been enjoying a pumpkin spice latte superfoods frappe 😋 instead of chemicals and huge ridiculous amounts of sugar that actually affect the immune system, my delicious frappe is full goodies that have become my vitamin replacement. 🙌🏻 😋 tastes good and makes you feel good too. Was having a conversation with my sister in-law earlier today and I caught myself starting to have a pity party in my head because I realized I’ve been letting stress get the best of me. 👿 Still have managed to squeeze 2-4 workouts a week, but because I’m not as lean as I was a few months ago 🤷🏻♀️, I have been starting to allow those negative thoughts about myself creep in. It happens from time to time. A lot less frequently as it use to happen, but I know it takes time and consistency replace the more negative thoughts with the more constructive thoughts. 💭 I really have been enjoying my journey because it’s gone beyond just the physical. There’s an understanding now that there will be times when I can give more focus to my training my body and other times when I can’t. So those times that I can’t, I focus on my mind. What’s important is maintaining health and realizing how much I've been growing to love the skin I’m in, no matter where I’m at. Being healthy and happy! 🙌🏻 The old me would not have dealt with all the stress the way I have been. I would have let the workouts go and started picking my body apart with any sight of weight gain. While I think it’s healthy to set goals and push ourselves to be more and be better, I also know it is just as important to be our biggest fan and supportive, even when there are set backs. Things feel different when we learn to really embrace who and where we are. I'm far from perfect and still working on my mindset and breaking old habits, but I catch myself picking myself up a lot faster than I did before. Working on that body confidence is hard, but just like building muscles it will strengthen with each passing day, as long as you work on it. No one can do it for you babe! At the same time, no one can stop you! 🙋🏻 So keep working hard and believing in yourself, because you are worth it! 🙌🏻💪🏻👊🏻 Ps... I’m here to support you when you’re ready. Transition to being a stay at home mom was a really freaking hard transition for my ego to swallow. We are EXTREMELY bless that I'm able to do so. AND THEN when I felt like I was drowning physically, mentally, spiritually and I just needed HELP with the girls to catch my breath...not contributing to childcare financially was an EVEN MORE challenging pill to swallow. My goals for this business, while not huge in finances...they still matter. I want to pay for.. CHILDCARE & SPONTANEOUS adventure. And today's payday? Paid for one of the girls' preschool tuition for the month. I earned that in ONE WEEK. It may not seem like much to some of you, but to me it feels like absolute FREEDOM. I’ve made it a habit to listen to something each morning that either provides me with some knowledge, motivation, empowering thoughts or techniques to incorporate into my life in order to achieve my goals. This morning, while on my drive back from dropping Logan off at school, I was listening to a video interview with John Assaraf. One question that stood out to me, because really, it’s never even crossed my mind, completely impacted me in that moment and made me start analyzing my decisions differently. Recently I have become more aware my thoughts. Are they destructive? (Do I tell myself things like, “this won’t work for me?” “I’m not good enough to do that?”) or do I ask myself encouraging questions? Questions that keep me curious to come up with new ideas and insight to move me forward? (“How CAN this work for me?” “What can I learn or do to take me to the next level?”). I never realized before how much just a simple change in thoughts could impact my actions. It made me realize how so many times I would allow my thoughts to take me to a place and make myself believe I was not “worthy” of success and achieving my goals. The video, this morning added to this awareness of the questions I should be asking myself. Before I invest time or energy into something, ask “is my life worth trading for that?” Every day we trade our life for the people in our lives, discussions, disagreements, feelings of anger, dissatisfaction, our job, the foods we eat... every single one of the choices we are making are what add up to the life we are live. Now, I’ll consider these decisions a little more when I think about the value and quality of my life. Have you noticed the thoughts you have before making a decision? They watch 👀 and mimic everything we do. That’s the number one reason living a healthier life is a priority for me. It is a daily goal not only to avoid being a burden on them in the future, but also because I know that they learn by example. It's important to me that my kids are exposed to regular exercise and we also emphasize forming healthy habits. These habits they form now, will last throughout their lives. In order for them to make these healthy habits, I know it's up to me to be a role model. It's up to me as their parent to help guide them to make safe and healthy choices every day. If I want them to be healthy, I can't just tell them to make healthier choices, I have to show them how to make those choices. So when I workout, I want my kids to see how dedicated I am to taking care of the one body we have to carry us throughout our life adventures. It’s not always easy working out at home with a toddler, but those moments like yesterday where I’m about to press play and she asks to join, make my heart extremely happy. Even when times are tough, it’s especially important to make ourselves stronger. As the body becomes stronger, it’s amazing how much the mind does as well and exactly why I stay so completely committed to a healthy life and being that example for my kids. I’m here to support when you are ready to feel stronger.
